Oscars X Gown Predictions - Part II

#JustSammthingXAwardSeason
Yesterday I posted my first bunch of Academy Award gown predictions. Today follow the next five. The actual show is getting closer and when this was posted, I am guessing some of the nominees down here were already lying nervously awake before they were starting to get ready.

Just days before the Oscars Tom Ford showed its latest collection with loads of beautiful gowns and dresses. Best Actress favourite Julianne Moore happened to sit front-row and this gorgeous, bold, long-sleeved dress happens to be perfect for her. The two days between the show and The Oscars gave Julianne's people just enough time to make it all work.

Jessica Chastain might just be the new Julianne Moore in terms of Oscar-overdue-ness (assuming she will get her much deserved first Academy Award after all those nominations). She got snubbed yet again this year, but she will be presenting anyway. After McQueen at her first Oscars and Armani PrivĂ© at her second, I think she will go with Atelier Versace this time around. Both sexy and sophisticated and considering she is not a nominee, perfectly appropriate.

Felicity Jones has proven to be a fan of French powerhouse Dior, so I am guessing that she will go for Christian Dior Haute Couture. She has worn this kind of silhouette before and I think the flower applications make it all perfect for her as youngest of the best actress nominees and fashion darling of the season.

Fashion-wise Emma Stone is definitely my favourite contender of the season. She knew to get it right at literally every event this season, by taking risks and choosing the right designers for her. For the Academy Awards I expect her to prolong the Lanvin love affair, going to get a custom dress similar to this monochromatic one from the archives.

For some reason up until now Rosamund Pike has worn beautiful dresses that I felt weren't right for her. I liked them, but they didn't quite do it. I am hoping that she will wear this beautifull, simple gown from John Galliano's first Maison Margiela Couture collection tomorrow night. It is a continuation of her recent choices, but I think this one will work better for her than the other choices she has made.
