I kicked off my three days of fashion week with the Spijkers & Spijkers show, just like their show was my very first Amsterdam Fashion Week experience a few seasons ago. Much to my surprise I got a front row seat, meaning that I got to see all of it from up close. I also thought it would be a perfect spot to take good photos, but I somehow spectacularly failed at getting nice shots. As much as I enjoyed my good seating, others did not approve of it so much. "Nobodys" (that's a quote) being seated on the front row, sparked vicious comments from other attendees. Much to my delight I would say. I thought the whole situation was hilarious.
This show definitely was a good start of my Fashion Week this season. I thought the show started off strong with beautifully mixed, graphic black-and white prints, later shifting to colourfully printed pieces, scarabs being a theme all through the show. Scarabs were there in busy prints, geometrical patterns and extravagant accesories. I particularly liked the many flowy dresses that also had scarabs all over them. You could wear them to a number of different occasions, never looking out of place.
