A Very Happy New Year!

First of all I want to wish you all the very best for the New Year. As always I think this one will be even better than the last. And in my case that won't be that easy. I have had a great year last year. Trips to Florence, Rome and Milan, a great group of friends and family to do all kinds of fun things with and Just Sammthing becoming more and more what I want it to be have made 2013 one of the very best.

This (read: 2013) was the year I got invited to collection presentations, press days, store openings and most importantly, Amsterdam Fashion Week, for the first time. I have visited PR agencies (thanks for having me!) and I have met fellow bloggers, journalists and even a couple of designers. I am so grateful for the goodie-bags, gift-cards and moreover, unique experiences, I have gotten in the past year. Something that started out as just a nice hobby, turned into a semi-professional learning experience.

So, what's up next? First I want to take a look at the goals I have made up for 2013. I think it is quite clear that no matter what I did or didn't succeed in doing, 2013 was a good year for me.

-         Successfully finish my second year of university
Done! My second year was quite a busy one though. I took quite a few extra courses as part of my university's Honours Programme.
-         Learn more about the relation between fashion and architecture
OK, now I'm reading this again I realize how pretentious even setting this goal was.
-         Learn using my Nikon DLSR better
I think I succeeded in this one. My photography posts on my trips to Italy are among the most read ones of the year, so I guess you like it too. Reporting from the different events I was invited too definitely helped improving my skills too.
-         Pick up my old hobbies: drawing and making music
Although I have drawn and made music quite a lot, I don't think it was the way I meant it. I will keep this one in mind though.
-         Do collaborations with other bloggers, brands, PR companies or other possibly interesting partners.
I definitely succeeded in this one. I just hope the trend that started last year will continue in 2014!

Now the goals for 2014. Actually I find it hard thinking of goals for the new year. Maybe because it is not quite clear what 2014 will be like. I know that I will leave for a semester in Paris in February and that in June I should have my Bachelor's degree, but that's it. I'll just give it a try though:

-         Learn speaking French fluently and truly get to know the city of Paris
-         Get in to Paris Fashion Week (menswear, ready-to-wear or Haute Couture, all three count)
-         Earn my Bachelor's degree plus Honours certificate
-         Continue professionalizing Just Sammthing
Watch all seasons of Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Homeland and Modern family (let's not take this list too seriously)

Once more, best wishes for the new year! Do you have any goals or resolutions?

(I found this cheesy video on YouTube and I just had to post it here. Excuse me!)
