Best Of 2012: Music

These last few days of the year are traditionally the time to look back. As I have done a couple of years now already, I am doing that too. I start with the music 'category'. I have been thinking about what 2012 has brought us in music, because most of my favourite artists have hardly done anything new this year. For me 2012 was the year of new discoveries and relatively unknown bands and singers.

These are my ten favourite songs of 2012, in no specific order:

Karmin - Brokenhearted ...from Musical Youtube duo Karmin's debut album Hello. I already followed their channel, but now eventually they have made their own album (and quite a nice one!). Imagine Dragons - It's Time ... it's only since Gossip Girl's final episode that I know this song, I'm addicted ever since though. Fun - We Are Young ... another song I first heard on Gossip Girl, just a few weeks later it became a hit. Adele - Skyfall ... do I need to say anything at all? Regina Spektor - Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas) ... it's probably the one song I listened most to this summer. "I love Paris in the rain", isn't that sentence simply genius? Fun - Some Nights ... another great Fun song! Maroon 5 - Payphone ... I remember hearing this one all the time in Italy last summer, it was a nice holiday. Just like the song! Nicki Minaj - Starships ... it´s wrong in all possible ways, but probably that´s what makes this song so much fun.  Marina And The Diamonds - Primadonna ... nothing will ever beat her ´Hollywood´, but Primadonna from her new album is very nice too. I finally saw her live last September!

  1. It was a good year for songs :). For me, one of the best songs of 2012 is Cypress Hill+Rusko "Roll it light it".
