Paris Fashion Week: Lanvin and Haider Ackermann

Paris never disappoints. This fashion week already is my favourite of all four major fashion weeks. These two shows fit perfectly in the Parisian fashion scene.

I loved the setting and of course I loved Alber Elbaz’ designs. It’s such a pity that Lanvin menswear isn’t as beautiful as Lanvin womenswear. Isn’t it ironic that this fall collection has almost only short dresses and skirts sometimes even in bright colours? Quite different from Lanvin’s latest spring collection. The effortless sophistication of this collection is simply amazing.

Haider Ackermann
I remember that last season I mentioned Haider Ackermann as one of the “interesting others”. I did admire the tuxedo-trouser-dresses for some reason back then, but I found it interesting rather than beautiful. But when I saw Lady Gaga’s Vogue cover for March, I suddenly got it. So Ackermann’s latest collection immediately got my attention. I even think it’s the best show of all major fashion weeks so far! Especially Ackermann’s constructions and the way he combines different textures are amazing, even exciting. Rumour has it that Haider Ackermann will replace Galliano at Christian Dior. The only thing I can do is hoping that rumour’s true!
