New York Fashion Week: day one

Yesterday New York Fashion week officially started. I’m reviewing some shows every day. I just pick the ones I liked the most, or the ones I just want to write about something. Let’s start with Christian Siriano and Nicholas K!

Christian Siriano

Though I never really liked his personality, I’ve been a Christian fan during Project Runway. His designs were almost always beautiful. Christian said he found inspiration was an eclectic mix of cultures. I personally didn’t really recognised that in his collection… Anyway, his collection didn’t really impress me. I mean, all clothes are really nice, but not different, special or extraordinary. I’m sure lots of women would like to wear Christian’s designs, but somehow this collection didn’t succeed in making me super enthusiastic. I have to admit, some of the used prints are wonderful and this collection has a summery vibe.

I was so happy to see some menswear between lots
of shows with only womenswear. I really liked the collection! It’s military inspired, but with an urban vibe. Really something my classmates and I could be wearing to school. Lots of leather jackets, parkas, cargo pants, boots, hoodies and cardigans. Mainly in greys. These colours would probably be better for an autumn collection, though I like them.
