New York Fashion Week: day eight

Final day of NEW YORK Fashion Week, first day of LONDON Fashion Week. Today I’m reviewing Oscar de la Renta and Ralph Lauren. I personally don’t find London Fashion Week as exciting as New York Fashion Week, or at least I expect less from London than New York. Maybe I am going to adore it, but I’m not sure yet. So I still don’t know what to do with London Fashion Week. Probably, I won’t be reviewing London as I did New York this whole week. Of course I will review some shows, but I think I will only do shows I absolutely loved, which will probably be Mulberry, Matthew Williamson, Burberry Prorsum and some others.

Anyway, I was going to write about Oscar de la Renta and Ralph Lauren. Two big names.

Oscar de la Renta
In the first place a romantic collection: lots of pastels, lace, flower motifs and tweed. But in the end there were some evening dresses and Academy-Award dignified gowns, maybe a bit dramatic, but beautiful.

Ralph Lauren
Although I’m not a country or Western fan, the theme of Ralph Lauren’s show did appeal to me. I liked the brown and white suede pieces and details. This collection definitely isn’t my favourite this week, but I liked watching it.
